This section outlines the documents you need to bring to your first appointment, including a downloadable patient registration form. This is to ensure that we have all the right information on the day.
Depending on your situation, a surgical procedure may be recommended to assist with diagnosis and/or treatment. Examples of these procedures include Laparoscopy, Hysteroscopy, Dilation of cervix & Curettage (D&C) and non-surgical fallopian tubal patency assessment.
If you are booked to have a surgical procedure, please read and follow the instructions in this section carefully (preferably 2 weeks prior to your surgery). It includes information about medications and herbal supplements that you need to stop taking before your surgery, going home after surgery and private health insurance.
Genetic carrier screening gives individuals and couples information about their risk of having a child with one of three inherited genetic conditions, including Cystic Fibrosis (CF), Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
Many people are carriers of CF, FXS and SMA even though they do not have anybody in their family who has the condition. These conditions are not usually diagnosed during routine pregnancy testing, and a baby may be born with one of these conditions despite having a normal pregnancy and no family history.
